What a whirlwind of a year it’s been for Meglio. Where do we start? New products, a new website, a whole host of new exercise and training videos, oh and of course, a few new team members to add to the ever-growing Meglio family. 2017 has certainly been an exciting year of growth and development in all sectors of the company.
We started the year with a blank canvas, literally! After moving into a new office late last year, we decided to add a personal touch to our new home by giving the walls a nice lick of paint. Our ‘New World’ wall symbolises, the background culture of our team, some of the countries in which we connect with and our mission to share Meglio with the world. A fresh new year also deserves a fresh new look. February saw the introduction of a new and improved Meglio website, featuring a dedicated section for our extremely popular, free exercise and training videos. Our official YouTube channel, Meglio TV, has quickly become a hit across the NHS and private practices around the UK. By the end of 2017, it has become a hit right around the world. More on that a bit later though.
Alongside our brand spanking new website, we’ve also added a few new members to the Meglio family this year. Patrick Johnson (PJ) joined the Meglio team in February, heading up our NHS Field Sales department. Driving the length and breadth of the country to visit hospitals and private clinics, PJ quickly established himself within the Meglio Team. Now a fully recognised resident of Reading, Patrick mixes up his time on the road and in the office, pushing Meglio out to UK physiotherapists wherever he goes.
Spring 2017 saw the filming and release of a brand new set of exercise videos, featuring our most popular product, resistance bands. By early June, Meglio TV had already eclipsed 100,000 views; an incredible feat its first full year of creation. 600+ subscribers and viewed in over 200 countries around the world, even we were pretty impressed by the growth and recognition of such a new video channel.
In the same month, Meglio helped sponsor a charity Triathlon put on in the local area, The Wargrave Sprint Triathlon. This would be the first of two Triathlon events, in what turned out to be a busy sporting year for us!
We also created our very own official British Cycling Team, ‘Team Meglio’, which will soon be riding in the Tour De France (Maybe we better start with the Tour De Reading first). We better grab our Lycra and jump on the saddle before the boss catches us sitting at our desks!
In the summer months, we put together final preparations to host, Meglio Conquer The Chilterns Triathlon 2017, for a second consecutive year. The event took place in mid-September, featuring three individual Triathlon distances. Over 350 athletes took on an epic swim, gruelling cycle and punishing run to conquer the Chiltern Valley hills! Keep an eye out on our website and social media channels for any details regarding future events!
Quite a busy year so far and we didn’t stop there. The Meglio team exhibited products to a brand new audience at the AACP Conference in Bristol and also returned to Birmingham in late November for Therapy Expo 2017. Our team met thousands of therapy professionals, from across all disciplines and received an abundance of positive feedback. Our claw machine filled with products certainly went down a treat at Therapy Expo! Queues of people lined up for a chance to win a Meglio goody.
On our mission to share Meglio products with the rest of the world, we decided to invest in brand new, dedicated websites for our European channels. We’ve also taken on another new team member to help us conquer our latest challenge. Willkommen Elena!
Elena joined Meglio as a multilingual, business graduate and has quickly gone on to develop our European sales channels. Meglio products are now purchased daily in the UK, USA, Germany, Spain, Italy and France. It won’t be long before we need offices right across the globe. I’ve put my name down for the California office 🙂
Now into the final weeks of the year and the Meglio team is still pushing for more. Meglio TV will reach 250,000 views by the end of the year, sales have gone through the roof on all channels and plans are already in place for an exciting 2018. New products, new countries and more sporting events to name just a few upcoming treats in the New Year.
Don’t worry, we did find time for a little Christmas celebration and Secret Santa of course.
